About the Event
WHEN WILL D-GROUPS MEET?
D-Groups meet once a week. We will use our current Sunday night time slot of 6pm-7:30pm as the main meeting time for our D-Groups but meeting times are flexible depending on the group.
PREPARATION FOR THE D-GROUP:
- Devotion/Study. Set aside a daily devotion time with God. Be sure that you are reading your Bible on a daily basis...this is vital as the Bible is God's written word to you and there is no other substitute. If you need help developing a daily devotion time please ask one of our student ministry leaders for help. After youhave completed your devotion time, spend about 15 minutes a day working through the weekly study guide for the week (provided by student ministry).
- Pray. Ask God to help you to apply His word to your life and to help you understand what you have read and studied. Ask God to show you how to share the things you are learning with your D-Group and be praying for others in your D-Group.
- Memorize. Your group will also be memorizing Scripture together. DO NOT FREAK OUT ABOUT THIS! You already memorize so many other things without a second thought. Memorizing Scripture is one of the greatest ways to live out the Gospel in everyday life, as it trains your mind to think about the things of God. Spend about 10-15 minutes a day reading and memorizing your memory verse for the week. Use the time between your classes at school to review your verses and be sure to recite all of your memory verses every week. Each week you will learn a new verse totaling 13 verses...Week 1 you memorize and recite the Week 1 verse, Week 2 you'll memorize a new verse for Week 2 and say verses from Week 1 &2 and so on.
- Communicate. Be sure to let Stefan know if your D-Group will be meeting at a time other than the Sunday night meeting time at 6pm. Let the student ministry staff know how your group is going and if you need anything so we can do our best at helping your groups be fruitful, meaningful, and successful.
